Yes, well, his comment to Mr. Martin Amis during a book interview in 1979 is probably a truthful reflection of his actual thoughts on the matter:

Yes, we see, Roman. The young girls, the young girls, for you it’s all about the young girls. Did you ever wonder what the hell you were about? Could it be that his view of the world is so off base that he really thinks everybody has the same self-interest, lack of maturity and casual disregard for others as he does?
