Does the legislation also empower the union administration to run "open" ballots on general votes? If so, that would be a very destructive tool... guaranteeing that no dissent comes up from the rank & file.
ReplyDeleteMy memory is foggy: I recall [McGovern?] a Democrat rallying for secret ballots precisely to protect rank-and-file members from union bosses.
