Can someone tell me . . .

. . . why TownHall.com continues to publish Kathleen Parker? If a "conservative" site is going to publish Parker, why not also publish Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand and Katrina vanden Heuvel?

  5. Why is she kept around?

    Simple. Hits.

Not hits to read her articles, which by now are little more than a placeholder for the comments section. It is the comments section that draw the most attention. We are in a flogging mood, she is in dire need of flogging, and she is more than willing to take a flogging...over and over and over again.

If NRO had a comments section, we'd all be visiting every time Frum publicly pooped in the bed.

  6. Yes, completely right Robert. My wife reads Town Hall and complains bitterly about Parker still being published there. Indeed, there are many divergent voices in conservatism, are philosophy covers a spectrum of ideas. But at some point, you have to say that a person is no longer offering alternatives: they are offering hate. Hate for us. That's Parker, ever since the oogedy boogedy slander.

My wife used to go in and just give her articles a "one star" and leave, now she just ignores them completely, which is what I would suggest everyone do. Personally, I stopped reading Town Hall a long time ago because it stopped being, well, interesting, or at least it isn't as interesting as blogs such as this one and Big Hollywood.
