Nebraskans: Help Save America!

Don't let Sen. Ben Nelson flip-flop on ObamaCare:

As I explained here yesterday:
Nelson can vote "yes" on the motion to proceed to a vote (which requires a 60-vote supermajority). and then vote "no" on final passage, where only 51 "yes" votes are needed. Because of the overwhelming Democratic majority in the Senate, there is no question on the final passage if it gets that far; therefore, the only way Nelson (or any other Democrat) affects the outcome is if he votes "no" on the motion to proceed.
So unless and until Nelson says he'll join the filibuster, his statement of opposition is meaningless.

  1. Trust me, he is getting diluged and is feeling the heat. I've outlined all of this in my blog:

  2. Thanks for this post. This is our last chance to crush the bill.

  3. Beautiful! Keep the pressure up.

  4. I believe there is one more argument that has not been addressed; the threat to close the base. I'm starting to think like the devious career anti-American haters on the left and feel dirty about it but it occurred to me that if Nelson votes "yes" on this bill, the Administration can close the base in a couple of years and claim that it was in the cards all along. If he votes "no" however, the Administration is faced with the realization that the right will SCREAM that they are compromising national security for political retribution and they won't want to face that charge. Therefore, if Nelson really wants to protect the base in Nebraska, keep the jobs, he will vote "NO."
