This has got to scare Democrats to death, because the whole point of hitching their wagons to Obama's star was that Obama was popular. In fact, one might say that Plouffe, Axelroad & Company developed a formula in which "popular" was an acceptable synonym for "successful." But the gross incompetence of the Obama administration can't be solved by P.R. gimmicks. Five weeks ago, when the polls were looking good for Obama, I said:
Idiots. Economics is not public relations. Don't you people understand that it doesn't matter how "popular" you and your policies are, if what you are doing is the wrong thing to do? And that it doesn't matter how clever and persuasive your arguments are, if your policies bring disaster? In three words: It Won't Work. Or, in more words . . .
UPDATE: Hot Air's Ed Morrissey reminds us that Rasmussen has been showing steady declines in Obama's approval numbers.
PREVIOUSLY:
- 3/23: 'Sheesh, the guy is Jimmy Carter . . .'
- 3/17: From Hope to Hopeless in 8 Weeks
- 3/13: 'Increasingly significant doubts'
- 3/4: Random freaking adults, again
- 2/15: Popularity vs. reality
Jules Crittenden, originally a Rupert Murdock hire at the Boston Herald.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rupert had to sell the paper, because of too much exposure to the media markets in Boston who did he sell to?
Rupert sold the paper to one of Rupert's top executives.
Jules Crittenden is little more than one of a plethora of Rupert Murdock sockpuppets.
The right rails against Soros while Rupert Murdock has an obsequious hand in most of the right-wing hackery we see today.
If Zogby says, it's 50-50, it's probably much worse. The legacy media is quite adept at using "polls" as propaganda tools to sell the public on some issue or another. Without access to the full data set, these can be considered fraudulent.
ReplyDelete"Jules Crittenden had this as a blog exclusive last night: New Zogby poll has the job approval numbers for Obama at 50 percent."
ReplyDeleteNo. FiveThirtyEight would appear to have already debunked it at that stage.
Zogby? The same Zogby who is a regular guest on Hannity? Seriously now...
ReplyDelete" Democrats must be scared to death" ?
You're a smart guy, RS, but you clearly do not know what you are up against.
Not to mention that it's only been two months, and when the economy begins to turn whatever drop in the polls he might have had will jump back up.
Again, I realize that these silly posts are intended to boost the morale of the freaks on the Right.
But you guys are out of your league.
Just get back to the drawing board already and come up with some solutions.
until then you're just jacking off for one another.
And that's kind of gay....
@Y4E,
ReplyDeleteYour game was great up to this part:
Just get back to the drawing board already and come up with some solutions.
You do know that government doesn't 'solve' anything, don't you? ;)
