But 'Pussy' is only implied!

The RNC released this video about Nancy Pelosi's attacks on the CIA, using a James Bond theme and finishing with the tagline, "Lack of Leadership. Democrats Galore." This is a play on the name Pussy Galore, the evil woman in the 1964 Bond flick, Goldfinger. As Darleen Click at Protein Wisdom says, "all kerfuffle breaks loose."

Try to read Taylor Marsh's hissie fit (this term is a derivative of hysteria, whose Greek roots remind us that the patriarchy has been oppressing womyn for 3,000 years) and never forget the accusation: It's Republicans who don't have a sense of humor.

Too bad this happened too late for National Offend A Feminist Week. But thanks to the RNC for keeping alive the festive holiday spirit.

(Hat tip: Memeorandum.)

UPDATE: Excuse me, but Allah is just wrong:

I’d love to know who among the Republican brain trust thought this was a good idea. Even if their motives were pure, after seeing what happened to Limbaugh’s “I hope he fails” comment, they simply have to be more attuned to how their message will be received and whether they’re giving their opponents easy opportunities to distort it.

No, this is brilliant. Get your enemy to promote your message, and do it in such a way that everybody who clicks will sit through the whole video in hopes of seeing -- "Pussy!" -- what the Left tells them they're going to see.

The joke is on the critics, of course, since the same term is a common substitute for "wimp," and "Democrats Galore" rather cuts to the heart of what the GOP is really trying to say about Democrats' approach to national security, eh?

Lighten up, man. Jimmie Bise has more on Pelosi-palooza, and Donald Douglas shows the vastness of Pelosia's gaping idiocy.

(P.S.: Note that when feminists are promoting The Vagina Monologues, it's "empowering" to shout this from the rooftops. Only when Republicans try it does the Left suddenly become as prudish as a Victorian schoolmarm.)

Update II: by Smitty
Joe Gandelman at The Moderate Voice delivers unintended comedy:
But it’s indicative of the continued lowering of the bar of American political discourse: even by the increasingly sleazy standard of political ads utilized by both sides, this ad is a particularly smelly one.
I'm not sure what clip you watched, Joe, but the one I saw was roughly as sleazy as, say, a Police Squad episode. Recommend good diet and excercise, Mr. Gandelman.

  1. This would have been a stellar addition to NOAFW. Damn, timing is everything ain't it?

  2. Not only Taylor, but Allahpundit is a wee bit upset, as well.

This is the kinda thing that John Hawkins was talking about the other week, that Republicans need to fight fire with fire. I caught the ad on TV the other night, about blew my dinner wine out of my nose. Finally, someone at the RNC grew some cajones!

  3. My only complaint is that Nancy Pelosi doesn't deserve to be compared to Honor Blackman. Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb is more her speed.

  4. Seriously, it strikes me that if you think the RNC is actually
calling Nancy Pelosi (or the Dems at large) that, you're really overthinking it.

  5. What Rich Fader said.
The CIA/Bond angle drives the choice of material.
The winking sexual angle is simply non-existent.
But if it helps the left beclown itself, that's nearly entertaining, except that it's really reached the depressing stage now.

  6. What do you expect from Allahpundit, he's the biggest pussy of the conservative blogosphere, and DEATHLY afraid of anything that might offend liberals.

Of course, he was all to happy to take one cheap shot after another at Sarah Palin and promoted taunts of "trailer trash" and "Wasilla hillbilly" by troll posters for months until he was repeatedly called out for his hypocrisy. After that - fearing criticism of course, but not out of any sense of fairness - he finally stops the trolls and the cheap shots.

  7. I think the ad is hilarious. Unlike Allahpundit, I don't mind seeing the left offended.

  8. The sudden prude outrage has been indeed hilarious, but c'mon, what's the RNC doing running an ad that references a movie from 1964. How old are the people making these things?

  9. Pussy Galore wasn't that evil in the end, remember Bond "appealed to her maternal instincts" as he astutely put it. Of course in feminist ideology that is far more offensive than if she had been completely evil, which is the ultimate rebellion against the patriarchy.

  11. I am so enjoying the complete meltdown and hypocrisy of those on the left as I take a peek at their comments around the blogposphere.

Not that there is anything unusual about lefties having hyperventilating meltdowns and showing their hypocrisy, pretty much an hourly occurrence. Some are more fun then others.

  12. They're referencing that particular 45-year-old movie because thanks to TV and home video it's still a very popular movie. Even among people who weren't old enough to catch the premiere.

  13. Yet another example of partisan tolerance. Day after day of red-faced attacks on Sarah Palin, her daughters, her sister in law, husband, her disabled son, all tolerated because she brought them up on stage. One video that doesn't even use the dreaded word, as oblique as a LOLCAT, and those Republicans have crossed the line! Thank you Marcuse for the perennial PC roolz of the left and the media (but I repeat myself).

    J'accuse Marcuse!

  14. After all, it's not like you could call President Obama "Honor Blackman" now, could you?

  16. I remember Rush L. once saying that what bothered Obama and his handlers the most is ridicule. I think you can extend that to the rest of the left (including Pelosi) also.It just seems to get under their skins and stings.
