Palin's speech: 'A little news flash'

Excerpt from tonight's speech:
I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I've learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion -- I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country.
There's never any political downside to attacking the Washington elite. If only she'd called them pointy-headed intellectuals who can't even park their bicycles straight.

  2. I thought the speech was well delivered.
    She's a pitbull alright!
The one thing I didn't like was that whole
folksy, provincial approach of hers. Kind of like
a young, hot Paul Harvey with tits.
I'm just not sure about this approach.
I wonder why so many voters look for someone they can relate to, someone like themselves( in mannerism)...Personally I would like someone smarter and better than myself in the Oval Office.
    That's just me...
In any case, lots of red-moose -meat tonite.
Oh yeah, that " Washington Elite" and "Media" business is old hat. Cheap political points. Is this what this ticket is all about? Are Conservatives asking themselves about her Populist style of Republicanism? Are they co-opting the "Change" message? Oil windfalls given back to taxpayers in the form of refund checks? Is anyone buying this?

  3. Oh yeah, another thing...
I was under the impression tonite that many
are voting for Palin. That McCain is more of a running mate. Almost as if they were running on a multi-platform ticket with two different constituencies: old guard Republicans with the Modern Conservative /Evangelicals.

Ironically, I feel like Hillary's speech on Tuesday night at the DNC pushed McCain's hand. He saw Hillary's call for unity as a potential loss of disgruntled Dems, and he left the next day to Alaska to do a little vetting...funny....
