Not exactly news: Democrats continue
to destroy capitalism, prevent recovery

You're not surprised by this, are you?
The House passed the most ambitious restructuring of federal financial regulations since the New Deal on Friday . . .
The sprawling legislation would give the government new powers to break up companies that threaten the economy, create a new agency to oversee consumer banking transactions and shine a light into shadow financial markets that have escaped the oversight of regulators.
The vote was a party-line 223-202. No Republicans voted for the bill; 27 Democrats voted against it.
Hey, did you catch that? The government could "break up companies that threaten the economy."
  • Question: Which companies are targeted by this?
  • Answer: Any big company that gives too much money to Republicans.
Honestly, this misguided legislation is about one thing and one thing only: Expanding government power. A few other tidbits from the Washington Post:
The 1,279-page House bill . . .
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who guided the bill through the House Financial Services Committee . . .
1,279 pages! Let's face it: The Democrats couldn't pass a resolution to honor National Stamp Collecting Week that didn't run at least a thousand pages long with $50 billion in pork-barrel spending buried in the amendments.

And of course Barney Frank is in charge of the bill! Who else can we trust to bring reform and transparency to the financial industry?

And when the bill goes to the Senate, Chris Dodd will be in charge of it. Because this just makes sense, you see?

Please, Mr. Caterpillar, let me hit that hookah. After four or five puffs, maybe the madness will seem sane.

I guess Barney Frank is used to looking aft

by Smitty (h/t HuffPo)

I think that Barney Frank is as credible on ACORN as Nancy Pelosi is on waterboarding.
Lou Dobbs is the most credible voice in the dialogue. Michelle Bachman comes in second, and Frank could be replaced with a chamber pot.
Yes, money was given to ACORN during the Bush administration. Of what possible use is the repetitious charge that Bush gave ACORN money? Are we supposed to pretend that Congress had no oversight, and didn't know, dime for dime, what went where? Way to avoid an intelligent look at the present, where ACORN actively undermines confidence in the electoral system, Frank.
How the country will rejoice when people like Frank are no longer in office. The day cannot come soon enough.

'This is great news for everyone . . . '

". . . except Barney Frank, who's always secretly wondered what it would be like to be taken by a Somali pirate."

Mass. 4: Please Do Not Send This One Back

by Smitty (Hat Tip: Insty)

An intrepid student asks something that would, in a reflective man, have produced a reasoned, thoughtful response:
"How much responsibility, if any, do you have for the financial crisis?"
Mr. Frank, you utterly refuse to consider the question at face value. Your behavior here is a sorry piece of work, a disgrace to your state, and your country.
Recommendation: retirement.

'Unfortunately, he’s a Democrat from Massachusetts . . .'

". . . If killing a woman isn’t a career ender there, I doubt helping to lay down the bedrock of the financial collapse of America would be enough."

Barney Frank calls you a racist

Yes, you there, the one who thinks it's a bad idea to pressure banks to make risky mortgages in the pursuit of "social justice."

Let's bring some evidence to bear on this issue:All of these journalists and economists who say that Barney Frank, Jamie Gorelick, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson and the Community Reinvestment Act helped cause the mortgage meltdown, they're just racists, see? And if you don't agree, what does that make you?
