Nine-term Democratic Rep. William Jefferson, who has been battling scandals and a federal indictment for the past three years, lost his bid for re-election on Saturday.Note that Cao is a "community organizer" -- a cruel irony for "Cold Cash" Jefferson.
Republican challenger Anh "Joseph" Cao, an attorney and community organizer, defeated Jefferson in the 2nd Congressional district race. He will become the first Vietnamese-American elected to Congress.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Cao had almost 50 percent of the vote to Jefferson's 47 percent.. . .

ReplyDeleteMr. Cao's win is a very pleasant surprise. And that's sad because I doubt if Jefferson would have lost if a lesser person had been his opponent.
ReplyDeleteExcept, if you're actually very bright, and you actually know stuff in a serious way, you also know that "information professionals" are mostly not that smart, and not that well informed.

Go through the list of "news anchors" of the course of TV history -- most of them not super smart, most of them so knowledgeable about anything in particular. But they always faked that they were.
