Wade Rathke's Metal Days

by Smitty

Michael Volpe at Big Government delivers a thorough crushing of the ACORN report excreted by the former Massachusetts Attorney General. Shorter Volpe: "Look at the self-licking ice cream cone."

Looking at the photo of Rathke,

one can't help but wonder if he hadn't engaged in louder activities in his youth...

And for tonight's ironic lyric, let's look at some ACORNy seeds that were first planted, and subsequently spread like Progressive/Socialist disease:
We've taken too much for granted
And all the time it had grown
From techno seeds we first planted
Evolved a mind of its own

Marching in the streets
Dragging iron feet
Laser beaming hearts
Ripping men apart

From off I've seen my perfection
Where we could do as we please
In secrecy this infection
Was spreading like a disease

  1. I will read the article later but I love your taste in music vids. I am pretty sure that clip is from the same tour I saw them on only in Springfield MO. I think 82 or 3. The set it the same anyway...as far I remember. There are 2 Baptist Bible colleges here and man did they bring out the protesters. The opening act had the word hell or satan in it so that really set them off. Ahh good times.

  2. Good catch Smitty!

    1) When he visits the S/M Clubs and Sites, I bet he uses the name Wade Wrath.

    2) How about the JP song Breaking The Law?

  3. Oh, that is killing me. I love's me some Rob Halford and JP. Now I have to go get my I-Pod and listen to rid myself of this vision.
I saw them in '82, '85 and '87 if I can remember through the fog of time and other things...
