Most ludicrous Sarah Palin reaction

by Smitty

So Sarah Palin is stepping aside as Alaska Governor. Political junkies, and those that care about the future direction of the country, are just a bit tense. A two week wait to see what Sarah's next step will be is a couple of decades in Internet time.
So here is Rachel Sklar: "Sarah Palin, You Owe The Media An Apology"
Let's see if we can locate reasoning on HuffPo. Nope. The post seems to be a chronological series of perceived slights. Rachel concludes:
[Sarah Palin] swaggered onstage in front of the friendliest crowd ever, warmed up by Rudy Giuliani and Mike Huckabee, and blasted the media for daring to want to know who she was, what she'd done and what she stood for. Well, now we know. And it turns out that ten months ago, she was full of it.
So, Sarah Palin, you owe the media an apology.

No, Rachel, she does not. Sarah Palin owes you and the media...wait...checking...nothing whatsoever. There are a few things she could offer you, but I don't think it tasteful to mention them. However momentarily satisfying, they would not look good on the police report.

Update:
I may have been too hasty to call this one. Donald Douglas has a roundup of far stupider stuff.

  1. Folks at HufPo are very, very happy. This means O stays in office till 16.
Americans may not be the brightest (I think that in fact they are the brightest) but they know enough no to vote for a lefty Republican. Evidence: 1992,1996 00(which many still say was stolen by the liberal GOP - I disagree but no question the election was actually a draw - neither lefty won!)and most recently 08!

The only conservative in the GOP with any exposure is Perry and he is not a good speaker. He is a good gov. but Sarah is miles ahead of him is speech making.
Sarah may have won in 12 no one else can beat O. Do not tell me about unemployment! It got worse during 2 FDR terms and he still won a 3rd term because Americans knew the root cause was Bush I mean Hoover. Even if it goes up to 13% only Sarah could beat him!

  3. More information on “grassroots” supporters gathering across the nation to support Sarah Palin for President in 2012 can be found online at www.palin4pres2012.com

Note, the website is in danger of crashing due to the flood of readers and supporters signing up to show their interest in a Palin Candidacy. The GOP establishment had better watch out, Sarah Palin and Ron Paul combined with the power of the internet will remove the stranglehold of GOP special interests and the elites who have brought the party to its knees in defeat in the 2008 elections.

  4. @exJarhead:
If the right sits back and allows an Obama re-election, then we collectively deserve the fallout.

    @TRG:
I was speculating about Sarah ventilating a few people who arguably could use it, but trying to do it indirectly, to please my internal editor.

  5. Really, though, a lefty just isn't a lefty without an unwarranted sense of entitlement.

  6. I find lots of reasons to smile about this, and I am NOT a Lefty. Sarah proves again that she is not a conventional politician, and that's just one think I like about her. Some idiots are saying she is deserting Alaska, but I daresay that great state will run just fine with the innumerable elected officials still in office.

Let's hope they are squirming at the RNC offices--I think she could be a vastly more effective fundraiser and speaker with more time on her hands, and therefore much more powerful.

    Go Sarah go!!

  9. Yes, thinking the media and leftists have done the stupidest thing is always a hasty judgement. They're bound to exceed the previous action.

  10. Hmm...wonder...she takes one for the State. She's attracting frivolous ethics violations and has few allies in the Leg thus State business is hurting. She bows out and doing so lets her second in command take over so that when he decides to run he won't be doing it from a position as a Lt. Gov. but as Gov. and will have a year and change to run on to fend off challengers. Thus ensuring the Gov. stays in GOP hands.
She rests a spell, deservedly so, works on her book, does a tour when it's released then come 2010 start stumping for GOP candidates. If she in any way affects the outcome positively (boosts numbers of GOPs in Congress) then the 2012 Nat'l ticket belongs to her. Then she can spend her political and monetary capital to build one formidable campaign machine to take on Obama.

Holy sh*t, this might actually work...

  12. Palin’s move puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, as the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to. This week Helen Thomas, Colin Powell, and Warren Buffet all turned on him. Polls are looking droopy for The One lately.

Obama’s porkulus program is a train wreck, all it’s done is bump interest rates and tank the dollar. We are being laughed at by bad guys like Tehran, Pyongyang, and Al Qaida who amazingly turned-down Barack’s friend-requests.

Palin could trounce him in 2012, when Americans would vote for the Gipper-in-Heels in droves- while begging for lower taxes, free enterpise, a defense posture with some backbone… an end to the radical, anti-American nightmare we’ve got now.

    Go get ‘em Sarah-

  13. This is like saying that you owe your rapist an apology because he didn't think you were any good.
