Marcus is a young conservative who shows up at just about every party around D.C. This makes him evil, acccording to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
So Marcus buys a spot on the SPLC's "Wall of Tolerance," and gets a certificate lauding him for his "important contribution to the ongoing fight against hatred and intolerance in America."
Moral of the story? SPLC is a carnie hustle, a ripoff operation to scam rich old liberals out of their money by making them believe they're fighting "hatred and intolerance" by smearing conservatives like my young friend Marcus.

for the record, I didn't buy a spot on the wall of tolerance. They just sent it as part of my direct mail package complete with a letter from Toni Morrison, "teaching tolerance" address labels, and an offer to buy Morris Dees' latest book.
ReplyDeleteThat I managed to get on their direct mail list speaks to why they have such high overhead..
