If anyone deserves thanks (and a pension) it is my wife, who has served our country just as much as I. As she sometimes reminds me, I get to run around, see interesting places and practice my Arabic. Powerful stuff. Indeed, whenever I see a man or woman in uniform, I make a point of thanking them for their service. My stepson is in the Army and just re-upped his commitment. He'll probably be deployed soon. Meanwhile, his wife will also be the one who sacrifices while he serves.
ReplyDeleteThe men and women of the armed forces are to me the "creme de la creme" of America. They're the ones who understand that freedom is truly not free. They've seen evil up close and personal, some living to tell the tale. And they're the ones who keep evil at bay so we can sleep peacefully. God bless them all and their families this Christmas season and into the New Year. Bring them all home, safe, God.
