"Quick synopsis of every Jewish holiday: They tried to kill us; we won; let's eat."

  1. I think the synopsis is only true of Hanukkah, Purim, and Passover.

Tisha B'Av is the anti-example: They came to kill us; they won; let's fast.

  2. Yom Kippur is not a 'holiday' so much as an obligation.

(But in any case, the eating comes after sundown when the fasting is done. :) )
