ReplyDeleteGotta tell you as a native from Louisiana, I cringed when the original song was released. I never like to reinforce Southern White Trash Stereotypes, and that is exactly what Ms. Wilson's song does, unfortunately. However with that being said, the people that just drive home this stereotype have never been to the South, nor do they have a clue as to the unique people, culture, and rich heritage that all of us down here below the Mason-Dixon line share.
