Obama: Stop, Or I Will Say 'Stop' Again

by Smitty (hat tip: Powerline)

"This provocation underscores the need for action -- not just this afternoon at the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons."

I should probably play the "wait and see" card. Possibly, BHO will pull a rabbit out of his hat.
I suspect that the United Nations is only slightly better than no United Nations. What do you expect from an organization which had Alger Hiss involved in its formation? OK, that's historically accurate but served up as a cheap shot. However, the Security Council offers anything but security or council, e.g. Africa.
One hopes that "action" isn't as much a mixed bag as the UN Law of the Sea Convention. As Carter's stillborn second term continues to unfold, though, optimism is hard to achieve.

  1. Oh joy!
The obligatory " Let's criticize everything Obama does, even if the previous administration, which we vociferously defended, did the same thing." headline!
    Awesome!
I'm looking forward to the " Obama farts during the National anthem" controversy which is sure to send your nutty militia-men into the kind of orgiastic frenzy that right wing pundits make millions of dollars with, by way of bumper stickers and such.
Man, I expect more from you guys.
    Well, not really....

  2. @Y4E,
It will be to BHO's credit if he does the same thing, and leads the Democrats away from signing the UNLOSC.
Unfortunately, his motives are deeply in doubt.

  3. Ah yes, motives.
Amazing how the Right is so keen on what his true motives are.
Or better yet, how dubious his motives are.
This talking point has been, to my surprise, unbelievably effective among Cons.
I wonder, did you all know what Bush's motives truly were?
Were you ever in doubt of his motives behind, say, 'No Child Left Behind'?....
Or any other of his other presidential gems?
I only ask because it seems to me that the motive behind these kind of cheap kitchen sink rhetorical exercises is to instill suspicion in the minds of that funny demographic known as Conservatives.
In other words, who needs reportage or " opinion journalism" when you have stupid Jedi mind tricks where you say nothing while suggesting the worse...
    I'm just sayin'...
