I've been thinking lately that Bill Kristol should take a leave of absence for a couple of months and go help out on the McCain campaign.I've been thinking lately that Rich Lowry should take a leave of absence, period, ever since he approved the wretched "Unpatriotic Conservatives" article that smeared Bob Novak, et al. (Among the "unpatriotic" observations for which Novak was excoriated: "The CIA, in its present state, is viewed by its Capitol Hill overseers as incapable of targeting bin Laden." More than five years later, I think it fair to say Novak has been amply vindicated.)
The assertion that the McCain campaign's chief problem is a shortage of neocon advisers strikes me as evidence that Lowry's tertiary syphilis has reached the terminal stage.
A more charitable explanation is that Lowry wants Kristol to leave Fox News in order to create an opening for a Republican pundit to be filled by Rich Lowry.
UPDATE: Nominated as "Awesomely Angry Disgruntled Right-Wing Blog Post of the Day" by John Swenkler who is obviously a great guy, because he got his wife knocked up. (Getting your wife knocked up is the best kind of pro-life activism. Go 'er again, John.)
UPDATE II: A necessary clarification.
