When not lighting up the tubey-webs with blistering satire, Iowahawk so often indulges a motor fetish. This particular roundup does include a Red Barchetta, which affords one the opportunity to brush the plush Rush crush:
However, Stacy has some objection to a band who'd simulate a wild ride in a car so directly in a song, omitting the blues he seems to consider essential. No, I don't get it, either.
In the name of blog tranquility, we'll lay down something topical, bluesy, and car-centric:
I should probably not mention my (admittedly brief) experience as a music promoter. My big idea was to have Rush and ZZ-Top on tour--performing each others' material.

I like both Rush and ZZ Top, but Rush is on another level. Also, Pratt likes Ayn Rand from what I know, and Motorcycles too, as well as The Macallan. He can't be all that bad.
ReplyDeleteAwww RSM, you broke my heart by not loving Rush! :-)
ReplyDeleteFederalism, Rush, Squeeze, The Dead Kennedys...what's not to love?

Oh Bravo Sierra. It sounds like a wonderful idea.
The ones who don't like Rush are the ones who don't give a shit about learning their instrument, albeit vocals aren't an instrument, for the most part, in rock music.
ReplyDeleteWhile the punk bands that were so popular in the 80's found no audience after their nihilist posers moved on to another pose, Rush still packs the sheds and arenas, and puts on a killer show, with actual production values...yes, lights, video, humor, production values, shit that costs money!
Smitty, I'd have commented earlier to thank you, but I went off on an hour long YouTube Rush bender.
