As the McCain campaign ratchets up the intensity of its attacks on Barack Obama, some black elected officials are calling the tactics desperate, unseemly and racist.Hey, Democrats, ease up with that crap, OK? I keep telling you: The election's over. Conjuring up this "code" nonsense only makes you look paranoid and inflames tensions that otherwise wouldn't exist. Obama's got this one in the bag, and you need to start concentrating on trying to look gracious in victory.
“They are trying to throw out these codes,” said Representative Gregory Meeks, a Democrat from New York.
“He’s ‘not one of us?’” Mr. Meeks said, referring to a comment Sarah Palin made at a campaign rally on Oct. 6 in Florida. “That’s racial. That’s fear. They know they can’t win on the issues, so the last resort they have is race and fear.”
“Racism is alive and well in this country, and McCain and Palin are trying to appeal to that and it’s unfortunate,” said Representative Ed Towns, also from New York.

Could this have anything to do with their being from New York? James Carville made a statement about riots occurring if Obama loses the election.

ReplyDeleteThat's funny because it's been Palin conjuring up nonsense lately, but that's OK, right?
I guess Dems should just sit back while MILF goes out there making the most outrageous, and frankly, sad, insinuations. Sometimes you fight fire with fire.So while Repugnants insist on trying to stoke the flames ("terrorist", "Kill Him!") I feel it is fair game to call anybody out on it.
Maybe you Cons will grow up one day and see that most Americans are ready to move on from 20th century Rove politics.
In the meantime, your side can keep trumpeting the Klan's talking points.Anti-semite Hannity can keep doing the same. The chickens are coming home to roost....

ReplyDeletePshhhaw. The popularity polls are over. And, of course, Obama wins those, smart, young black guy in a suit that is too conservative for a British Prime Minister - AND he's got a smooth outside jump shot.
The election is a whole 'nother thing.
