YEAS (207)So, Nancy Pelosi could only deliver 60% of the Democratic House caucus in support of the bill. Leadership!NAYS (226)
- Democrats -- 141
- Republicans -- 66
- Democrats -- 94
- Republicans -- 132
UPDATE: If Pelosi was trying to sweet-talk Republicans into supporting the bill, she sure had a funny way of going about it: In looking at the House roll call, I was happy to see among the Democrats who voted for the unpopular bailout the name of Rep. Ron Klein, who's facing a challenge in Florida's 22nd District from Lt. Col. Allen West.

(I think they have to amend _something_ to get it before thehouse again.)
There was a scene in "Airplane" where they threw in the Point-Counterpoint segment from 60 Minutes.
Jack Kirkpatrick rails: "...they knew what they were getting into. I say, let 'em crash."
Not everyone wants to prolong the economic agony, or thinks that any more bandaids on the mummy are helping.
I'd like to see a parliamentary lawyer discuss this above-the-fold.
Is it dead? Why will the Senate vote on it--the House has spoken. Stare Decisis?
