Naomi Wolf's paranoid style

Sarah Palin: Governor of Alaska or proto-fascist "muse of the coming American police state"?
I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints. . . .
Palin, not McCain, is the FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal. The strategy became clear. Time magazine reported that Rove is "dialed in" to the McCain campaign. Rove's protégé Steve Schmidt is now campaign manager. And Politico reported that Rove was heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection. Finally a new report shows that there are dozens of Bush and Rove operatives surrounding Sarah Palin and orchestrating her every move.
Oh. My. God. A Republican taking campaign advice from . . . a Republican campaign adviser! How fiendish! Nor is this all, Ms. Wolf informs us:
Under the coming Palin-Rove police state, you will witness the plans now underway to bring Iraqi troops to patrol the streets of our nation. . . .
Under the Palin-Rove police state, citizens will be targeted with state cyberterrorism.
Miss Wolf knows all about this, as she is being hounded by mysterious forces:
I personally keep opening bank accounts that are quickly corrupted by fraud. Money vanishes. Coworkers of mine have to keep opening new email accounts as old ones become infected. . . .
My tax returns vanished from my mailbox. All my larger envelopes arrive ripped straight open apparently by hand. When I show the postman, he says "That's impossible." . . .
My childrens' report cards are returned again and again though perfectly addressed; their invitations are turned back; and my daughters many letters from camp? Vanished. All of them. Not one arrived.
It's obviously all part of a consipiracy so immense as to dwarf any in the history of man.

You know, these lefties keep ignoring my advice, but I'll tell them once more: The problem is that cheap tinfoil you guys use in your hats. As any right-wing militia kook can tell you, if you want to block out those CIA mindwave-control messages, only quality Reynolds Wrap will do the job. P.J. Gladnick comments:
This sure reminds me of a certain Gary Larson cartoon. A patient is reclining on a psychiatrist's couch. Sitting next to him is the shrink writing on his notepad: "Just plain NUTS!!!"
What's weird is that Wolf was once a espectable journalist and author. And yet Bush Derangement Syndrome appears to have driven her into some sort of dementia. OK, you don't like Republicans -- we get that. But must you embroider your dislike with so much fearful hysteria?

UPDATE: In a headline throwaway line, Ace says, "Once you go Truther, you really don't have an '11' anymore you can turn it up to when you need it."

  1. Um. Why doesn't she get a mail drop, and use a stronger password on her email account?

Why doesn't she keep track of her bank accounts, and discuss any discrepancies with them?

And if her mailbox isn't secure, how exactly is this Sarah Palin's fault?

  2. I actually think Naomi got the story right. She just picked the wrong candidate and examples to highlight her missive.
