Bad luck in the 13th District

Remember Vito "Baby Daddy" Fossella, the "family values" Republican from New York who fathered a love child with his mistress and then got busted for DUI?

The GOP picked retired businessman Frank Powers to seek election as Fossella's successor. This morning, Frank Powers died of a heart attack.

This is the 13th District of New York, after all. Instead of an elephant, the local GOP mascot is a black cat.
