It was like watching someone throw red-meat in a tank full of hungry sharks, but you wonder what are they hungry for? Cheap political points or for reform?
It doesn't surprise me that the Right is doing backflips over the speech. You have to put up a strong front in these situations. But really, there was little substance to the speech. "Executive experience" is a lark considering GWB and Cheney both have TONS of "Executive experience".
It was a strong first showing, but she has to come with the goods in the following weeks.
PS- Rudy Nine-Eleven was a joke.I wasn't aware that the Left-Wing media and Hollywood are not Americans...
PPS- The "Community Activist" attacks are weak.
Especially when it comes from the "Sportscaster" Sarah Palin. Makes me wonder if she is devoted to Public Service or to being a public figure....Young 4-Eyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04159195318322896154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223398383609158624.post-58216659395601661482008-09-04T10:47:00.000-04:002008-09-04T10:47:00.000-04:00BTW, the teleprompter was broken. This was also why Guliani deviated from his speech.Steve in TNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09990498448942991511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223398383609158624.post-85651349128916207902008-09-04T09:54:00.000-04:002008-09-04T09:54:00.000-04:00>I felt she delivered the speech too slowly, an...>I felt she delivered the speech too slowly, and that the delegates -- a bit too eager to show their approval -- interrupted her too often with applause.

This was probably the only place where lack of experience showed--she simply hasn't delivered a speech to that many people. Steering a ferry is not steering a supertanker. So give her about 1.5 more tries to work on the pace management.
The overcheering from the delegates was a trifle strained.
"Drill baby, drill" Well, at least there is a little valid bait for the critics, so they don't have to create too much fiction from whole cloth.smitty1ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06559464300318848169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223398383609158624.post-67739082076597296732008-09-04T09:47:00.000-04:002008-09-04T09:47:00.000-04:00Easily the best political speech I've ever heard i...Easily the best political speech I've ever heard in my entire life, and I'm 45.

Home run? Shiiyaat! Bottom of the 9th, hometown behind, Grand Slam.

I do agree on one point though. The audience did not cooperate fully. They seemed to applaud way too long, and did interupt her at parts, which seemed a bit awkward.Eric Donderohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02763399145451696076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223398383609158624.post-92167274031751832582008-09-04T09:02:00.000-04:002008-09-04T09:02:00.000-04:00Baseball doesn't cover it...* That was a touchdow...Baseball doesn't cover it...* That was a touchdown run that left defenders in broken heaps across the gridiron. Now Sen.
